Helper Says Singapore Helped Her Buy Dream Home Back In Indonesia

A helper’s story about turning years of work in Singapore into a better life back home has caught plenty of attention online.

In the video, the helper shared that the main reason for coming to Singapore was to earn money. After working here for eight years, the helper said enough savings were made to buy land and build two houses back home.

The video also showed a glimpse of the houses, with the helper sharing how hard work in Singapore helped achieve a long-time dream. Retirement is also on the cards soon, as the daughter is currently studying in Australia to become a teacher.

“She Worked For It,” Netizens Rally

Many commenters praised the helper’s determination and the sacrifices made to support the family.

Some pointed out that the story was not about showing off, but about sharing how overseas work created better opportunities for loved ones.

Others said many migrant workers come to Singapore with a clear goal in mind. Work hard, save money, and return home with something meaningful after years of effort.

From Dream Homes To Local Housing Struggles

While many netizens cheered for her achievement, some Singaporeans brought up the struggle of owning a home here.

Some comments pointed out the contrast between foreign workers using years of overseas work to build homes back home, while many locals are still struggling with rising housing costs.

The replies showed two very different realities. For migrant workers, Singapore can be a place to hustle, save up, and give their families a better shot at life. For some Singaporeans, owning a home has become a much harder goal to reach.

We asked a helper, “Why did you choose to work in Singapore?” Her answer? “To earn money and buy land!” But what could be employer’s answer🤔 We’ve asked many employers and it is often related to needing extra hand to take care of kids and the home! We agree with both! What do you think? #helper #maidagency #sg #singapore
