A hike in the Swiss Alps somehow turned into a Singaporean meetup.

A local tourist was making the way to a mountain viewpoint when a Singaporean couple appeared along the trail. Instead of just saying hi and moving on, everyone decided to hike together. A random trail meeting turned into a wholesome hike filled with chats, laughs, and stunning views.
The traveller later shared the moment online, joking that “you can escape Singapore, but you can’t escape Singaporeans.”
Singaporeans Really Are Everywhere
Many Singaporeans in the comments understood the feeling, sharing their own stories of meeting fellow Singaporeans overseas.
One person joked that Singapore is tiny, but Singaporeans somehow keep appearing everywhere around the world.

Another shared that a trip to a remote part of Iceland still ended with a Singaporean encounter. During an off-season visit, the family found themselves sitting next to another Singaporean family at a restaurant.

Maybe it is not that surprising after all. Singaporeans often visit the same popular travel spots, so running into familiar faces thousands of kilometres away is more common than expected.
Finding a Little Bit of Home Abroad
Hearing a Singaporean accent overseas can feel oddly comforting.
Some travellers said spotting another Singaporean makes a foreign place feel a little less unfamiliar. There is an instant connection when two people realise they come from the same small island.
