Spain Departs for FIFA World Cup 2026
Spain’s national football team departed for the United States for the FIFA World Cup 2026 on Friday from Santiago de Compostela airport.

Footage shows the team gathering on the runway for a group photo before taking more pictures together. The airplane’s livery reads, ‘A team takes off. A country flies.’ Players are later seen boarding the aircraft.
Federation Chief Expresses Confidence
“Hopefully, we will have the opportunity we are aiming for — of course, to bring the World Champions title back to Spain. We are going to take it step by step,” President of the Spanish Football Federation Rafael Louzan told reporters at the airport.

“I believe there is a great deal of hope and excitement surrounding this team. Therefore, we will try, or rather, they will have to try, not to disappoint that enthusiasm,” he continued.
Ambitions for World Cup Success
“They are heading there full of excitement and determination to achieve victories for the Spanish national team, and hopefully that will take us to the very top,” he concluded.

Spain will play a friendly match against Peru on June 9 in Mexico’s Puebla, another World Cup venue along with Canada and the US. La Roja will then kick off their World Cup campaign on June 15 in Atlanta against Cape Verde.
