With the current football being as much a game of raw power as it is about skill, many Korean players are resorting to special training methods to make their game better. It may be of South Korea’s Park Jae-yong, who is in pre-season training to improve his stamina for the next season.

Park is 193 centimeters tall and is renowned for his field presence. He is taller and stronger than other players, which is an advantage when he has the ball and is competing for the air. Moreover, he will represent South Korea in the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou, proving his international representation prowess by winning gold medals.
Building Physical Strength
Although he had innate abilities, performance experts and coaches felt that Park could utilize his size more effectively in physical match-ups. As a result, he dedicated much of his preseason training to improving his ability to win challenges against opponents.

The focus was not only on increasing strength. The training program helped Park use his physical qualities more effectively during matches. Coaches designed the program to improve his balance, stability, and overall movement when facing pressure from opponents.
Work on Movement Efficiency
A major component of Park’s training was to streamline his kinetic chain. This is the relationship between the various components of the body in relation to producing movement and power. The training focused on developing the lower body, core, and upper body link.

Park wanted to enhance this coordination to transfer the force better in physical contact. Their aim was to become firmer and more in control against opposition and to be able to control opposing players during 1v1 scenarios on the field.
Growing Trend in South Korea
In South Korea, it is becoming popular among professional footballers to opt for performance-based training. Clubs and athletes are investing more effort in programs that target specific areas of development and performance improvement.

Players are not just working on fitness in the traditional sense but are now working out with a plan in mind to meet each player’s specific needs. These methods help players develop key skills and build the strength needed for modern football. Strength, balance, and control often play a major role during matches.
