Guangzhou Hosts Major Robotics Expo
The Guangzhou International Intelligent Robot Exhibition (IRE 2026), held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex, turned the venue into a hub of advanced automation.

Footage captured on Thursday showed robotic arms dressed in traditional Chinese lion costumes in operation, alongside a heavy-duty industrial picking robot working. Various robots were also seen carrying out automated logistics tasks. Exhibitors and family members can be seen assisting an elderly woman in a wheelchair as she tested a smart mobility device.

IRE 2026 highlighted major advancements in robotics and signalled a shift toward AI-driven production, including the use of digital twins and embodied intelligence in manufacturing.
Focus on AI and Industrial Innovation
Held from June 3 to 5, the three-day event featured the full robotics value chain, focusing on industrial, logistics, and service robots, as well as innovations in artificial intelligence and emerging low-altitude transport economy sectors.

The expo attracted more than 700 international exhibitors and tens of thousands of visitors, reflecting a move from theoretical AI to real-world industrial and commercial applications.
