A Reddit user posted images of their first time attending Lion City Faire 2026, sparking a discussion among attendees, many of whom described it as one of the best local festivals they’ve seen in years.
Lion City Faire is Singapore’s fantasy festival, an original adaptation of the theme of the Renaissance.
The 2026 edition was themed “A Symphony of Land and Sea” and drew on Singapore’s history as a regional port settlement, featuring fantasy role-play, performances, workshops, and vendor stalls.
People praises Affordable Pricing
Many comments focused on the event’s pricing.
One attendee noted that tickets cost S$22, while a “giant portion” of macaroni goreng and tahu bergedil was priced at S$6.
Water cost S$2, while potion drinks sold for S$5 and came with reusable bottles that qualified for cheaper refills. Craft beer was also available at a flat S$12.
Several users compared the prices to other festivals in Singapore, saying attendees were more willing to spend when food and drinks were reasonably priced.
Organisation and Activities Drew Praise
Commenters also praised the event’s layout and activities.
Users described the booths as well-spaced and said the vendors appeared thoughtfully selected.
Activities mentioned included leatherworking sessions, Dungeons & Dragons games, miniature painting, adventurer challenges, and live performances.
One attendee wrote that it was “one of the most well organised events” they had attended, while another said the organisers were “clearly very passionate about the community.”
Weather Was One Common Complaint
A few users remarked the second day was easier since it was a cloudy day, while others joked that only a druid with a weather-control spell could have improved the situation.
The conversation ended with a focus on attendees’ experiences, with many wishing for the return of Lion City Faire in the coming years.
