The incident shocked local residents and quickly led to a police investigation. Officials believe the accident may have been caused by serious negligence during the preparation for the jump. The victim’s identity has not been widely released as investigations continue.

Fatal Mistake During Jump

According to initial reports, the woman was taking part in a rope jump activity organized by companies linked to adventure sports. Before the jump, participants are normally secured with safety equipment designed to prevent falls.

Investigators said workers apparently forgot to connect the main safety rope to the victim. Moments later, she was pushed from the bridge and fell approximately 40 meters. Emergency responders were called to the scene, but the young woman could not be saved.

Six Arrested After Investigation

Police moved quickly after the accident. Authorities arrested six individuals associated with the rope jump operation in Limeira. The group reportedly includes instructors and operators linked to companies such as Entre Cordas and Ih Voei.

Authorities said two of the suspects attempted to escape into a nearby wooded area after the incident. Authorities also used a helicopter during the search and later found and arrested both individuals.

Arrests were the result of investigators who were working to collect evidence and interview witnesses. Officials are now checking whether staff followed safety procedures before the jump.

Negligence Enquiry Continues

Brazil’s Civil Police, known as Polícia Civil, has opened a formal investigation into the case. The focus of the inquiry is whether negligence by those responsible for the activity directly contributed to the woman’s death.
