An act of kindness in Singapore has sprompted discussion online after a man was seen taking all the snacks left outside a home, which were meant for delivery workers.

In a TikTok posted on 1 April, user @twomomssg said they usually leave snacks along the common walkway outside their unit as a small gesture to support delivery riders.

Initially Took One, Then Returned for More

The caption read: “Wondering why this uncle took all the snacks. If he’s struggling to put food on the table we can all help.”

In the video, the man is seen walking past the ground-floor unit while pulling a blue foldable shopping trolley. The man’s actions were captured on a surveillance camera outside the unit and later shared online.

The video captions read as follows:

“Usually we leave out some snacks for the ppl delivering our parcels

Cause we know it can get busy And you can Eat something If you don’t Have time

Not sure why This uncle Decided to Take everything

Not that it’s anything Wrong with that But just wondering why”

He pauses after spotting a box of snacks placed on a table and takes one before walking away. Moments later, he returns to the table, reaches into the box, and takes more snacks, placing them into his trolley before leaving the area.

Comments: “Not nice to take all”

The video also drew a wave of comments, with some netizens calling the man’s actions inconsiderate.

“Not nice to take all. Leave some for others to enjoy the snacks too,” one wrote.

Others suggested clearer communication. “Maybe you can write a small note: ‘Delivery man, this is for you. Take good care 😊’,” a commenter said, while another asked, “Did you put up a sign that it’s free snacks for our delivery brothers and sisters?”

Some, however, were more understanding of the situation. “He give his family to eat,” one user commented, with OP replying, “I think so also.”

All in allhttps://wakeup.sg/sgd50-rm50-durian/, the original poster, was concerned the man was struggling to find food, and may have thus helped himself.
