Trump Unveils New Air Force One
US President Donald Trump unveiled a newly converted Qatar-gifted Air Force One at Joint Base Andrews on Friday, as the Boeing 747-8 begins commissioning flights before carrying the president.

Footage shows Trump adding his signature to a panel as he unveiled the aircraft’s new red, white and navy livery, a sharp break from the light blue design long associated with Air Force One.
Qatar Gift Converted For Service
The jet was previously owned by Qatar and accepted by the US as a state gift. It is being converted for use as a bridge aircraft while Boeing’s delayed VC-25B replacements remain under development.
Final Testing Phase Begins
The Air Force said the modified 747-8 had completed final government modifications and would now undergo commissioning flights, the last stage before presidential use. Officials have previously put the cost of the conversion at under $400 million.

The aircraft is expected to operate alongside the current VC-25A jets, which entered service in 1990. Those planes remain in use, but rising maintenance demands and delays to Boeing’s permanent replacements have added pressure for an interim solution.
