Knicks Celebrate Historic Championship
Thousands of New York Knicks fans packed Manhattan on Thursday as the city held a ticker-tape parade to celebrate the franchise’s first NBA championship in 53 years.

Footage shows players riding through the city on open-top buses marked ‘2026 NBA Champions’, waving to supporters lining the parade route and showing off the championship trophy.
Fans Fill Streets With Celebration
Fans danced in the streets, chanted and waved blue-and-orange flags as the team made its victory lap through Lower Manhattan’s Canyon of Heroes before a ceremony at City Hall.

The parade marked the end of a decades-long wait for Knicks supporters, who had not seen the franchise win an NBA title since 1973.
Gunfire Reported In Times Square
The celebrations were later disrupted by gunfire in Times Square, away from the main parade route, where tourists and bystanders ran for cover.

Police said a suspect was quickly chased down, while fire officials said one person was taken to hospital.
Authorities responded rapidly to the situation as investigations continued into the shooting that interrupted the day’s celebrations.
