Deadly Beach Drone Attack
The deadly drone attack on a Russian beach was caught on camera by an eyewitness on Monday, with holidaymakers and families seen watching in horror as the UAV slammed into the packed resort.
Footage from the Gelendzhik resort on the Black Sea in Krasnodar, southern Russia shows the drone descending, before exploding in a fireball – with the death toll now at seven, including three children, and another 58 injured.
Casualties Rise After Explosion
The Russian Health Ministry said nine of the injured were in serious condition, 37 received outpatient treatment, and another 21 remain hospitalised.
Kiev has not commented on the incident at the time of publication, but it has repeatedly denied targeting civilians and residential infrastructure.
Conflict Tensions Continue
Moscow launched a military offensive in Ukraine in late February 2022 after recognising the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics (DPR and LPR), claiming that Kiev had failed to guarantee their special status under the 2014 Minsk Agreements, and urging Ukraine to declare itself officially neutral and give assurances that it would never join NATO.
Kiev denounced the Russian action as an invasion. Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky imposed martial law throughout the country, announcing a general mobilisation, while the EU and the US imposed several rounds of sanctions on Moscow.
