The late Rob Reiner has earned a posthumous Emmy nomination, more than seven months after his passing.
The filmmaker, who passed away in December, was announced as one of the nominees in the Guest Actor in a Comedy Series category for his performance in season four of “The Bear”.
In it, he guest-starred for three episodes, playing restaurant consultant Albert Schnurr, who mentored line cook Ebra (Edwin Lee Gibson) about franchising.

The late filmmaker is nominated alongside Michael J. Fox (“Shrinking”), Brett Goldstein (“Shrinking”), Hamish Linklater (“Widow’s Bay”), Christopher McDonald (“Hacks”) and Connor Storrie (“Saturday Night Live”).
This marks Reiner’s first Emmy nomination for acting since 1978, when he won supporting actor for his performance in “All in the Family”.
His last Emmy nomination was in 2024 for directing and producing “Albert Brooks: Defending My Life”.
Reiner’s tragic death was reported in December last year, after he and wife Michele Singer Reiner were found stabbed to death at their Brentwood home. Son Nick was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
