A Very Busy Family Getaway
Chris Hemsworth’s latest Costa Rica photo dump looks less like a relaxing holiday and more like an action movie with the whole family involved. The Australian actor shared a series of photos and videos from the trip, giving followers a look at how he, his wife Elsa Pataky and their three children spent their time in the Central American country.
Instead of simply chilling by the beach, the family filled their days with outdoor adventures, from surfing and fishing to rock climbing and jumping into waterfalls. Hemsworth posted the photo dump on July 28, 2026, alongside a caption saying his kids “continue to crush” extreme and adrenaline-pumping activities wherever they go.
The Kids Were Clearly In Adventure Mode
The holiday featured plenty of moments where Hemsworth’s children joined in on the action. The family was seen surfing, exploring beaches, riding bicycles and spending time around rivers and waterfalls. There were also scenes involving rock climbing and cliff jumps, showing that the kids were not exactly sitting around waiting for their parents to finish the fun. Reports identified the three children as India Rose and twins Sasha and Tristan, who Hemsworth shares with Pataky.
The actor has previously posted about taking his children on active trips, including snowboarding in the French Alps and surfing in Australia, so the Costa Rica getaway fits right into their family travel style.
Surfing, Fishing And Cliff Jumps
One of the biggest highlights from the trip was the family’s time in the water. Hemsworth showed clips of himself and his children surfing and fishing in the sea, with some catches proudly held up for the camera. The family also explored waterfalls and took part in cliff-jumping activities, while other parts of the trip included quad-bike rides and cycling along the coast. His daughter was also shown climbing a rock wall as the sun went down. The mix of activities made the holiday look more like a packed adventure itinerary than a standard celebrity beach escape.
Even The Flight Had Some Drama
The adventure did not stop once the family left the ground. Footage from Hemsworth’s longer Costa Rica travel video showed a flight passing through a storm, with lightning visible outside the aircraft.
The moment became one of the more dramatic parts of the trip, especially after the actor filmed from inside the plane. He also joked about the experience in relation to his famous Thor character, turning an already intense part of the journey into another memorable clip. The full travel video was later shared on his YouTube channel, giving followers a longer look at the family’s time in Costa Rica.
Hemsworth Was Still Training
Even while travelling with his family, Hemsworth also found time to keep up with his fitness routine. The actor had been using his Costa Rica stay to train ahead of his upcoming work on Extraction 3, with outdoor workouts filmed during the trip. Earlier in July, he shared footage of himself completing a demanding workout in the Costa Rican heat using relatively simple equipment. His holiday therefore ended up combining family time with the kind of physical training that has become closely associated with his action roles.
For Hemsworth and Pataky, the Costa Rica trip also continued a pattern of taking their children on active holidays. Earlier this year, Hemsworth shared footage of the family snowboarding in France and surfing together, while the couple has regularly posted about outdoor adventures. Their Costa Rica trip brought that same energy to a warmer setting, with beaches, jungle landscapes, waterfalls and open water replacing the snowy mountains.
The Costa Rica photo dump ultimately gave fans a more personal look at the Hemsworth family away from film sets and red carpets. With the children surfing, climbing, fishing, cycling and taking on jumps, the holiday was packed with enough action to resemble one of their dad’s movie scenes.
Hemsworth is also preparing for his upcoming projects, including Avengers: Doomsday, while continuing his work on action-heavy films. For now, though, his latest social media posts are focused on a family trip where the kids appear to have stolen much of the spotlight.
