Shamans Predict Argentina Win

Peruvian shamans performed a ritual outside Lima’s National Stadium on Friday, predicting Argentina would beat Spain in the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

Footage shows the shamans using coca leaves, a black guinea pig, a doll dressed as a player and other traditional elements in a ceremony intended to send positive energy to the Argentine squad.

Ritual Sends Strength

“Today we are here at the request of the revelation of Diego Armando Maradona […] He has asked us to give, to send a lot of strength to the Argentina players so that tomorrow they bring the gold trophy here to South America,” shaman Feliz Roldan said.

“I have been able to notice that it is going to be a very tough, very even match […] Argentina takes the victory. Argentina is going to lift its fourth cup, its fourth star,” Juan de Dios, another shaman, added.

Dios also pointed to the historic ties between Peru and Argentina, including Peru’s support during the 1982 Falklands War.

“We are in favour of them, they are in favour of us, because we, Peru, in 1982, were able to donate the aeroplanes so that it could secretly support the country of Argentina,” he added.

Messi’s Final Chance

Shaman Miguel de los Santos said he had envisioned Lionel Messi lifting the World Cup again, describing the Argentine captain’s experience as a decisive factor.

“The Argentina team has that grit, it has that drive to now seek to become champions so that Messi can say goodbye in grand style, can leave through the front door in all his artistic legacy, in all his legacy as a player, which has been a very clean career,” he continued.

Argentina Chases History

Argentina will face Spain in Sunday’s final in New Jersey, their second successive appearance in the tournament’s showpiece match. The defending champions are chasing a fourth World Cup title after lifting the trophy in Qatar in 2022.
