A passenger was safely rescued after reportedly fainting and falling onto the railway tracks at a busy Light Rail Transit (LRT) station in Malaysia. The incident happened on Wednesday evening at Hang Tuah Station on Rapid KL’s Ampang and Sri Petaling lines. Train services were temporarily suspended while emergency teams carried out the rescue. Operations returned to normal about 16 minutes later after safety checks were completed.
Passenger Falls Onto Tracks
Rapid KL said the incident took place at about 6.36pm. According to the rail operator, the passenger is believed to have fainted before losing balance and falling onto the tracks.

Auxiliary police officers who were already on duty at the station quickly rushed to the scene. At the same time, the electricity supply to the tracks was switched off as a safety precaution. It enabled rescue workers to bring in the passenger without endangering anyone else.
The injured man was vacuumed off the tracks and transported to the ER at the station where he is receiving initial treatment.
Rapid KL did not reveal the passenger’s identity or medical condition. The company also did not confirm whether the passenger was later taken to a hospital.
Train Services Resume Quickly
After the rescue was completed, railway staff carried out a full inspection of the tracks to make sure everything was safe before restarting train operations.

Rapid KL confirmed that services on both the Ampang and Sri Petaling lines resumed at 6.52pm. Although the disruption was brief, passengers experienced a temporary interruption while emergency procedures were in progress.
The rail operator thanked its emergency personnel for responding quickly and ensuring the rescue was completed safely. The company said passenger safety remained its highest priority during the entire operation.
Safety Reminder For Passengers
Following the incident, Rapid KL reminded commuters to always stay behind the yellow safety line while waiting for trains. Passengers were also warned not to ever be in the track area.

The operator encouraged any person who feels dizzy, sick, or uncomfortable while at a station to immediately advise a station employee or auxiliary police officers. Timely assistance ensures trained people can respond promptly to provide assistance before an emergency arises.
No fatalities were reported, and normal train services resumed following safety checks to ensure that the station was safe to reopen. Rapid KL said it will continue to adhere to strict safety measures in case of emergency to ensure the safety of passengers and railway personnel.
