The founder of Papa Ayam revealed she spent $190,000 within two months to restructure and repair her Ayam geprek business in Singapore.

She said the amount is high for such a short period, but it was needed to deal with ongoing problems in how the outlets were running.

The focus of this investment is not on expanding but on quality control. Instead of opening new locations, the priority is stabilizing existing outlets and rebuilding consistency across the brand.

Taking Back Key Singapore Outlets

Three outlets are now back under direct management: City Square Mall, PLQ Mall, and 313 Somerset.

Papa Ayam originally expanded using a franchise system, where the brand handled recipes, supply, and marketing, while outlet partners handled daily operations.

As time went on, the execution began to differ from place to place, resulting in inconsistent customer experiences.

30-Day Plan for 313 Somerset Outlet

The 313 Somerset outlet, the first Papa Ayam store, is now the main focus.

A 30-day timeline has been set to improve how it runs — not for a complete overhaul, but to tighten the basics.

The focus is on food quality, service, and consistency, with the founder stepping in more directly on the ground.

Customer Feedback and Response

Customers have given good feedback and some constructive criticism.

Others still visit on a regular basis and are still loyal to the brand despite the problems with the operation. Some have commented on the need for better seating comfort and dining experience.

The founder has received the feedback and has responded positively, considering it as input for improving the outlets.
