An unusual way of travelling has captured attention in Indonesia after a farmer was seen flying a drone between his home and banana plantation. The farmer decides not to use a motorcycle or walk the distance; instead, he will use a large drone that can take about a few minutes to do the same. The journey is unique because it is conducted by the farmer who walks about 1.5 km from his home to the farm in Jombang, East Java.

The farmer is seen in a video of the daily flight, which has been released widely online, standing on a specially designed drone before taking off. The aircraft travels over roads, trees, and open fields before safely landing close to the banana plantation. The jaw-dropping display has garnered a lot of questions about the technology and its operation.
A Different Daily Journey
The farmer preferred this mode of transport to road transport. He has his plantation some distance away from his home, and the drone can be used directly by flying to his farm. Also, the short flight will not cause the journey to be slow due to rough roads or traffic.

The drone would seem to be capable of carrying only one person and is being handled carefully when taking off and landing. The straight-line flight is between the farmer’s home and the plantation. Throughout the journey, the farmer remains standing on the drone while it flies steadily across the countryside.
Drone Video Goes Viral
Footage of the unusual commute has attracted widespread attention because it shows a different use of drone technology. While drones are commonly used for aerial photography, inspections, and farming work, carrying a person from one place to another is still uncommon in many countries.
The video shows the drone lifting smoothly into the air before travelling across green farmland toward the plantation. The farmer lands safely before continuing his daily work among the banana trees. The simple but remarkable journey has introduced many viewers to another possible use of modern technology in agriculture.
Modern Farming Innovation
The farmer’s daily flights highlight how technology is becoming part of modern farming. Across many countries, farmers are increasingly using drones to monitor crops, spray fertilizer, and inspect large plantations. In this case, the technology is also being used for fertilizer and transport to reach the farm.

Although the drone journey is unusual, it has brought attention to creative farming practices in Indonesia. The short flight between home and the banana plantation has become a memorable example of how innovation can appear in everyday agricultural life.
