FamilyMart Malaysia has suspended one of its employees after a dispute with a delivery rider allegedly turned aggressive at an outlet in Kota Damansara. The incident gained public attention after a short video showing the confrontation spread widely across social media platforms on the same day.

According to FamilyMart Malaysia, the worker involved in the incident has been removed from duty temporarily while the company carries out an internal investigation. The convenience store chain said it is treating the matter seriously and promised to take further action if necessary after the investigation is completed.
Incident Captured On Video
The case became widely discussed after a 23-second video began circulating online. The footage appeared to show a heated argument between a delivery rider and a FamilyMart employee at the company’s outlet located in The Core, Kota Damansara, Malaysia.
Although the full details behind the argument remain unclear, the video quickly attracted attention because of the employee’s alleged actions during the confrontation. The rider later claimed online that he had approached the counter to ask about his order before the disagreement started.

In a post shared on X, the rider alleged that the employee responded in a rude manner before throwing soup at him during the exchange. The company has not publicly confirmed the rider’s claims but stated that it is urgently reviewing the matter.
Company Responds Quickly
FamilyMart Malaysia released a statement to local media organization FMT shortly after the video went viral online. In the statement, the company stressed that it does not accept rude, unsafe, or disrespectful behavior at any of its stores.

“Our team is urgently investigating the incident, and we have removed the staff member from duty,” the company said.
The convenience store chain also asked the public to remain patient while investigations continue. The company added that it would take appropriate action depending on the investigation results.
Investigation Still Ongoing
At the time of writing, FamilyMart Malaysia has not released additional information regarding the employee or the exact cause of the dispute. At the time of writing, neither side has confirmed whether they filed a police report.
The company said it remains committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for both customers and delivery workers at its outlets across Malaysia.
