A small issue between two commuters quickly turned into a heated argument after one passenger said another passenger’s backpack was touching him.

In the video, one commuter keeps asking the other to stop touching him, while the other says his backpack was not doing anything on purpose. The two then go back and forth about whether the bag was in the other person’s space.
Netizens pick sides over backpack issue
The video got people talking online about MRT manners and personal space.
Some viewers said people carrying backpacks should take them off or place them in front while standing, especially when trains are packed, so they do not accidentally hit others.

Others questioned the complaint, saying the train looked quite empty and joking that the backpack somehow became the “problem child” in the whole situation.
Small MRT issue turns into big drama
Some commenters said the matter could have been settled by speaking to MRT staff instead of arguing for minutes.
Others felt both commuters could have avoided the drama by simply moving away or giving each other more space.
At the end of the day, it was a backpack, but it somehow created a whole MRT storyline.
