Hundreds of mourners held a funeral procession in southern Iran for a four-year-old child who was among those killed in a reported US strike on a wedding celebration.
Child’s Funeral Draws Mourners
Footage released by Iranian state TV on Thursday shows residents walking through the streets carrying the child’s coffin, covered with bouquets.
The exact filming date and location could not be independently verified.
Iran Accuses US Of Strike
In a social media post on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said a US bombardment “targeted a residential house in Kuhestak in the city of Sirik while people were celebrating a wedding.”

“The list of the United States’ crimes against the Iranian people has now become more complete than ever before,” Baghaei added.
Iranian authorities said at least five people were killed and more than 60 wounded, including women and children.
US Says Civilians Not Targeted
US Central Command said it was aware of reports of civilian casualties and was reviewing the incident. A CENTCOM spokesperson said the US military never targets civilians.
The US military said its latest strikes targeted Iranian military sites after what it described as attempted attacks by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps against US forces and commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Targets included air defence sites, radar systems, maritime assets and communications infrastructure.

Iran later launched missiles and drones towards US forces in the region, including in Jordan, in response to the American strikes.
Fighting Follows June Ceasefire
The renewed fighting follows a ceasefire agreement reached between the United States and Iran in June.
The two sides electronically signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18, providing for an immediate and permanent ceasefire and negotiations towards a final agreement within 60 days. The deal also included measures related to sanctions relief and freedom of navigation.
Talks later ran into disputes over the implementation of the agreement, including maritime security and navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
