TikToker Says Man’s Creepy Laughter Wakes Up The Neighbourhood At 6AM

At around 6AM, when most of the neighbourhood is still waking up, one man’s loud, unusual laughter quickly caught attention online.

A video shows a man standing at a road junction, with his chest out and body positioned almost like a gorilla’s stance, while repeatedly letting out an unsettling laugh. He appears to be holding something in both hands, although it is difficult to make out what it is. A street lamp can also be seen flickering nearby, adding an unintentionally eerie feel to the scene.

A girl is seen hurriedly walking past him, which only made the whole moment look even more dramatic.

The clip was posted online and quickly attracted thousands of reactions, with many viewers initially treating the scene as something bizarre or funny.

Comments Say There May Be More To The Story

The conversation changed after one commenter claimed the man lives in the same neighbourhood and may have Tourette syndrome.

According to the commenter, the man becomes quieter while making his way home, leading them to believe the loud noises could be his way of releasing tics. They also said they do not mind the behaviour but hope he stays safe, especially since he sometimes goes outside at night.

That comment received support from other users, with some thanking the commenter for providing more context. One person pointed out that the behaviour could look deliberate when taken out of context, while another criticised the habit of posting strangers online without considering what they might be going through.

People Have Seen Similar Moments

The comments soon turned into a mini-collection of stories about people shouting or making unusual noises around different neighbourhoods. Some users mentioned a man around Cove LRT station who reportedly walks through the area shouting “Commando” every morning.

Others said they had seen people shouting around Bedok and Punggol, with one commenter claiming the person in the video was actually the same individual seen around Punggol.

There were also jokes about the situation, including references to the “Wuhu birds” and people joking about shouting back. Not everyone found the jokes funny, though. Several commenters urged others to be more understanding instead of treating someone’s behaviour purely as entertainment.

One commenter also shared that the situation reminded them of their late father, describing how unusual behaviour can sometimes become a nuisance while still being difficult for families and communities to deal with.

Maybe Pause Before Posting

The clip is undeniably unusual, and the creepy laughter at 6AM is enough to make anyone do a double take.

But the comments show why context matters.

There is no confirmed information in the post itself about the man’s health or whether he has Tourette syndrome, so viewers cannot know for sure what is behind his behaviour.

For some people, it may simply be another strange neighbourhood moment. For others, it could be someone dealing with circumstances that strangers online know nothing about.

A little context, empathy and restraint can make a difference when sharing moments like this online.
