Tun Dr. Mahathir and Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah married on 5 August 1956. Their marriage has lasted for seven decades, during which they experienced major moments in Malaysia’s history together.
Tun Dr. Mahathir, 100, served as Malaysia’s prime minister for two separate periods. He first became prime minister in 1981 and later returned to the position in 2018 before stepping down in 2020.

Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah, a trained medical doctor, has supported many public health and community programs throughout her life. She was also recognized for her work in promoting women’s health, education, and social welfare.
