A new scene is shining in the night sky in the Eco Majestic area of Semenyih, Selangor province, Malaysia—red and green laser lights are dancing across the middle of the road. It’s like a scene from a movie! But this is not an art installation; this is the country’s first laser pedestrian crossing system.

How does it work?
A video on TikTok went viral on how this laser crossing light works. In the video, when the signal for the movement of vehicles turns red, a thick red laser line is projected onto the road, along with the word “STOP” flashing in large letters.

After a few seconds, the scene changes to green light—every inch of the road is illuminated with green light, with the word “WALK” written on it. And at this time, a special sound signal is heard, instructing pedestrians to move.

This moment is so captivating that it feels like walking on Broadway in New York or the night streets of Seoul!
Safety and Style Together
This laser-based signal was created not only to enhance beauty but also to ensure the safety of pedestrians. Clear signals are available when crossing the road in the dark at night, which greatly reduces the risk of accidents.

Viral on TikTok, and praised by netizens
However, the video spread instantly on social media after it was released. So far, the video has received more than 113,000 likes and 4,400 shares.
TikTok users were amazed, and the video got lots of praise because of this mesmerizing initiative, and at the same time they were wondering when Singapore will bring this technology. Besides, some others were leaving some funny comments like- “If it were in our country, it would probably disappear in a day!”

This crossing by Eco Majestic is now a new symbol of Malaysia where safety, technology, and aesthetics come together on the same road.
