A 17-year-old Malaysian student with disabilities has become a notable figure due to his unique watermelon drink stall, allowing customers to choose the pricing they wish to pay. With his basic business concept and friendly service, many people have stopped by Muhammad Zufar Azman‘s Pasir Gudang, Johor, stall.

The stall is in front of his family house, which is located in Taman Air Biru. Instead of fixing a price, Zufar will have a donation box allowing customers to donate whatever they wish. The concept, known locally as “bayar seikhlas hati,” means paying according to one’s sincerity and ability.
A Different Way To Sell
Zufar, a student in the Special Education Integrated Programme (PPKI) at SMK Pasir Gudang 2, said customers can contribute any amount they can afford. Some have paid as little as 10 sen, while others have given much larger amounts. One customer even paid RM100 (about SGD30) for a single cup to support the young entrepreneur.

He also said that children who do not have money can receive a drink for free. The stall has become well known online, helping more people discover his story and visit the business.
Building Independence
According to his elder brother, Muhamad Rifai Azman, the family started the stall to help Zufar become more independent after completing school. Since Zufar finds it difficult to calculate change, the flexible payment system allows him to manage the business more comfortably.

What began as a small family project last year has grown steadily. Today, Zufar receives help from one full-time worker and three school friends who work part-time at the stall.
Growing Businesses And Bigger Dreams
As a stall, the stall is open daily from 3pm to 7pm and sells 50 to 100 cups of watermelon drinks daily. Sales are often higher on Fridays due to strong public support. His mother also helps supervise operations and ensures he follows his medication schedule.
Rifai said the family has noticed positive changes since Zufar started the business. His communication skills have improved, and he has also become better at counting. In terms of the future, he would like to expand the business and be able to provide for his parents.

The hard work and determination of Zufar are being greatly appreciated by netizens. They also encourage customers to pay fairly and to do things as they would like and not take advantage of his kindness.
