Brutal Attack Caught on Camera
The CCTV footage showed the attacker, believed to be a foreign national, initially loitering at the counter before suddenly approaching the victim with a knife. Despite her attempts to defend herself and flee, the attacker relentlessly pursued her, stabbing her eight times in the abdomen. According to mynewshub on X, the victim, who had RM4,000 with her, sustained severe injuries, but the robber failed to steal any money.
Immediate Medical Response and Ongoing Investigation
Following the attack, the victim was swiftly transported to Shah Alam Hospital, where she received emergency treatment and was discharged by 1:00 am the next day. Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, confirmed that the CCTV footage had provided a clear image of the suspect. The police are actively searching for him, and the case is being investigated under Section 394 of the Penal Code, which could result in a prison sentence of up to 20 years.
The violent attack heightened concerns about public safety and the role of foreign workers in the community. Additionally, authorities urged anyone with information on the suspect to contact Investigating Officer Inspector Mohd Syer Aidid at 013-6544996.
No Financial Losses
The victim’s brother, an e-hailing driver, reported the incident to the police at 11:40 am, as reported by New Straits Times.
