US Launches New Strikes

US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed it launched a major wave of strikes across Iran on Wednesday night, following what Washington described as attempted Iranian missile attacks on US forces.

Footage released by CENTCOM shows a ground crew member marshalling aircraft before several aircraft take off. Other shots show structures, vehicles, and vessels erupting in explosions.

The location and timing of the footage could not be independently verified.

“CENTCOM assets struck dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) targets in Iran, including military command centres, missile and drone facilities, coastal surveillance and defence sites, and maritime capabilities. The strikes aimed to further diminish threats posed by Iran and its proxies,” the statement read.

Iran Reports Explosions

Iranian state media reported explosions and injuries in southern Iran, including on Qeshm Island. Tehran had not issued a detailed official response to the latest US strikes at the time of publication.

CENTCOM accused IRGC forces of firing ‘multiple ballistic missiles’ on July 28, targeting US forces stationed across the region. The command said all the missiles were intercepted but did not identify the bases targeted.

The attack resumed US strikes inside Iran after a pause of nearly a week.

A separate US-Saudi operation targeted Iran-backed groups in Iraq on July 28.

Tensions Rise Again

The strikes follow the collapse of a Pakistan-brokered interim agreement signed in June, intended to halt the war that began on February 28.

Since fighting resumed, Washington has launched repeated strikes on Iranian targets, while Tehran has attacked US assets across the region.
