Unusual Royal Greeting at the White House
US President Donald Trump and King Charles engaged in a lengthy handshake that almost resembled an arm wrestling match, as the royals arrived at the White House in Washington DC on Monday.
Footage shows Trump and First Lady Melania welcoming King Charles III and Queen Camilla with the two men locked in a prolonged handshake.
State Visit Amid Political and Security Tensions
The meeting is part of a four-day state visit to mark the 250th anniversary of US independence. It comes amid strained relations between the US and the UK due to the Iran war and just days after a shooting at a press gala in Washington DC.
Despite the incident, Trump said that the King will be ‘very safe’ during his visit to the US .

Shots were fired at the Washington Hilton Hotel on Saturday where more than 2,000 guests had gathered for the annual White House Correspondents Dinner.
Suspect Arrested After Attack
Donald Trump, First Lady Melania, Vice President JD Vance, and cabinet members were in attendance. A Secret Service officer was shot but saved by his bulletproof vest.
The suspect, identified by the media as Cole Tomas Allen, 31, of Torrance, California, was apprehended and then taken to the hospital for evaluation while investigators examined his motives.
