A fisherman’s routine trip near Pulau Ketam, Klang, took an unexpected turn after he spotted a group of cats stranded on a structure surrounded by water. The animals appeared weak, thin and extremely hungry, according to footage shared online. Some reportedly became so desperate for food that they bit the fisherman’s hand when he moved closer. Unable to safely bring them back by himself, he recorded the situation and posted it online, hoping people with the right equipment and experience could step in. The video quickly drew attention from animal lovers, prompting a wider rescue effort.
Fisherman Finds Cats Stranded
The incident happened near Pulau Ketam, an island off the coast of Klang, where surrounding waters and coastal structures can make rescue operations difficult. In the footage, several cats can be seen gathered together on what appears to be a raised structure above the water. Their thin bodies and frantic behaviour suggested they had been without enough food for some time. The fisherman, identified as Vatia Sunaime, approached while filming.
