A TikTok social experiment has shown how a group of Singaporean men responded after a woman approached them and said she believed she was being followed.
The video, posted by TikTok user Fateyma, showed the men immediately allowing her to walk with them before asking questions about the situation.
The woman later revealed that the man she described as following her was actually her cameraman.
Woman Approaches Group For Help
In the video, the woman approached a group of men and asked if she could walk with them for a while.
She told them she had gotten off at Orchard MRT and believed a man had been looking at her and following her.
The men agreed without hesitation and allowed her to walk alongside them.
One of them asked whether she had anyone she could call. She explained that she thought she had lost sight of the man but was unsure whether he was still following her.
The group then asked questions about the man, including how big he was and whether she thought he might return.
The woman also asked what she should do if he came back and whether she should call the police.
She then revealed that the situation was part of a social experiment and that the alleged stalker was her cameraman.
Men Explain Their Response
After revealing the experiment, the woman thanked the men for stopping and walking with her.
She told them that their response had made her feel reassured and asked why they had agreed to help her.
One of the men said there was no harm in helping someone who appeared to be in danger.
He also said that while Singapore is generally safe, cases involving women being harassed or stalked can still happen.
The men said everyone should feel safe wherever they are and that helping someone in a potentially dangerous situation does not hurt.
One of them also said he believed many other men would be willing to help someone in a similar situation.
Viewers React to Social Experiment
The video received positive reactions from viewers, with several commenters praising the men’s response during the experiment.
One commenter wrote, “Wow, this restored my faith in Singaporean men,” while another said, “Singapore boys are really trustworthy.”
Several viewers also singled out the man wearing green, with comments describing him as a “green flag” and a “gentleman.”
Others shared their own experiences of receiving help from Singaporean men after being harassed or followed.
One commenter said they had previously been stalked and approached a group of Malay men for help. According to the commenter, the men offered to accompany them back to their block.
Another commenter recalled being harassed at VivoCity’s boardwalk, saying a group of Singaporean men noticed what was happening and stepped in.
Some viewers also discussed situations where they had felt unsafe on public transport, while others simply praised the group for their response.
The social experiment ended with the woman thanking the men for helping her and saying she appreciated their willingness to walk with her.
