Welcome to the Sky Buffet
Picture this. You get on a plane, and instead of some sad, microscopic bag of stale peanuts, you are handed a massive family feast. Literally.

That is just standard practice on Sichuan Airlines. Passengers call it the “pig-feeding airline” because the food just keeps on coming, non-stop.
Honestly, the flight attendants treat you like a pampered little pet that needs constant snacks. Want to eat until you basically have to be rolled off the aircraft? Book a ticket right now.
Real Spicy Food in the Clouds
Forget that tasteless airplane food that tastes like warm cardboard. Since this airline is based out of Chengdu, the actual capital of Sichuan spice, they serve legit local street food right at your seat.

We are talking proper hot mapo tofu and slippery, savory noodles.
The best part? The chili sauce routine. A flight attendant walks down the aisle holding a giant jar of authentic chili oil, scooping a massive spoonful straight onto your rice. It completely changes the game.
The Endless Hot Snack Attack
Just when you think you are totally stuffed and ready to pass out for a nap, the food parade starts up again.

Out come the baskets of warm comfort food. They will hand you hot baked potatoes, fluffy steamed buns, or sweet pastries.
You do not even have to ask them. They just look at you and decide your tummy has room for more.
Cute Pandas and Big Savings

Plus, the whole flight is just incredibly cute. The crew wears these adorable panda aprons as a nod to Chengdu’s famous giant pandas, so you are surrounded by cartoon panda faces while you stuff your face.
It is also a massive win for your wallet. You pay for a basic plane ticket and end up getting a full-blown buffet for free. Do yourself a favor and just wear your stretchiest sweatpants.

@allen.in.chengdu We have this joke in China — we call Sichuan Airlines the ‘Pig-Feeding Airline.’ Why? Because they just keep throwing food at you the whole flight. I just got back on one, and honestly, I ate more than I did on the ground 😂 #ChengduFood #SichuanFood #ChengduTravel #ChinaTravelGuide #SichuanAirLine
