The Shanghai Co-operation Organisation Summit takes place in Bishkek from August 31 to September 1. Its theme is ’25 Years of the SCO: Working Together for Lasting Peace, Development and Prosperity’. Leaders and representatives from 21 countries are expected to attend.
SCO Summit Brings Leaders
Putin is expected to hold nine bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit, including with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In addition to the SCO Summit, Bishkek will host the opening ceremony of the sixth World Nomad Games. The Games will run from August 31 to September 6, with the main programme taking place in the Issyk-Kul region.
