Family Accused Of Shoplifting At Phuket Store
A group of five tourists walked into a convenience store in Patong on May 6 and allegedly left without paying for their items. According to video footage from the store, the group entered around 7:45pm.

The footage appears to show the adults encouraging their children to tuck snacks under their shirts before the group tried to head out. Shop staff caught the group at the door, asking them to return the items to avoid any trouble with the law.
Family Reportedly Ignores Staff Warnings
When store staff tried to settle the issue, the group reportedly refused to hand back the products. The staff warned them that they would call the police. According to accounts of the incident, one member of the family dismissed the warning by stating they did not care.

As of today, local police have not shared an official statement, and it remains unknown if they have taken any action regarding this specific dispute.
Recent Reports Of Missing Property In The Area
This event follows several other reports of missing property in Phuket, though police have not stated if any of these cases are linked. In one report, a pair of shoes was taken from a home in Karon.

Another separate report involved a guitar removed from a parked motorcycle. While these stories have been shared around, police have not provided updates on any arrests or investigations into these specific matters.
Awaiting Further Word From Local Authorities
The community has shared a lot of concern on social media about these reports. Many residents are talking about how these actions affect local shops and the island. Authorities have not yet said if any arrests have been made regarding the shop incident.
Business owners in the area are hoping for updates or clear steps from the police to help prevent similar issues while they try to run their shops safely.
