A shocking incident has been reported from Odisha, where a tribal man took an extreme step after facing repeated rejection from a bank. The man was trying to withdraw ₹20,000 from his deceased sister’s account but was unable to complete the process.

The man, identified as Jeetu Munda, 50, went to the Maliposi branch in Patna block with his sister’s death certificate. His sister, Kalara Munda, had passed away earlier. He hoped the document would allow him to access the money.
Repeated Rejection At Bank
However, bank officials reportedly refused to process the request. They told him that the account holder should be present to withdraw money. Although he went to the bank numerous times and presented the necessary paperwork, he was denied.

According to reports, the man did not fully understand the legal procedures involved. With no clear solution given to him, he became increasingly frustrated by the situation.
Extreme Step Taken
In a desperate move, the man allegedly dug up his sister’s grave. He wrapped her skeletal remains in cloth and carried them on his shoulder to the bank. He just wanted to produce evidence of the account holder’s death.
His visit to the bank frightened the bank employees and other customers. People inside the branch felt shocked by the scene, and videos quickly spread on social media.
Police Intervention
Police were called to the scene soon after. Officers took the man into custody and handled the situation. The remains of his sister were later reburied respectfully.

So far, Odisha Grameen Bank has not released an official statement about the incident. Investigations are ongoing as concerns are raised about the banking practices in rural communities.
