Police Raid Suspect’s Home
Police raided the home of the suspected Nonthaburi school gunman on Friday, collecting evidence and recovering two bodies believed to be those of his grandparents.
Footage shows officers carrying electronic devices and household items from the property, with a Nazi flag hanging near the garage. Responders can also be seen wheeling body bags towards an ambulance before it drives away.
The raid followed a shooting at Debsirin Nonthaburi School earlier on Friday, where a 14-year-old student opened fire, killing five members of staff and leaving more than 30 people injured. The gunman later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
School Shooting Investigation
Ambulances and emergency crews raced to the school after the teenager began shooting. Nine of those wounded were reported to be in critical condition.
Police said the 14-year-old fired at least 26 rounds from a handgun belonging to his grandfather. Investigators believe he had already shot dead his grandparents at their home before travelling to the school and opening fire.
Prime Minister Responds
Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul visited the school after the attack, having earlier described the shooting as ‘truly terrible’ and said it should ‘never have happened’.
Police are investigating what drove the teenager to carry out the attack and how he gained access to the weapon.
