A violent incident at a restaurant in Kepong has shocked local residents after a man was allegedly beaten by several individuals during a late-night confrontation. The attack reportedly happened after the victim looked in the direction of the group while eating at the restaurant. Authorities later confirmed that multiple suspects had been arrested following the incident.

The case was early Thursday morning on May 7 at approximately 2:12 AM. The video footage of the restaurant later—after becoming widely available online—attracted public attention. This video was also posted by Kepong’s Member of Parliament, Lim Lip Eng, who shared updates on the assault and the injuries suffered by the victim in the incident.
Attack Captured On CCTV
According to a video, several men approached the victim while he was seated at the restaurant. The suspects allegedly punched him directly in the face before kicking him repeatedly during the confrontation. One of the attackers was also seen using a plastic chair to continue assaulting the man while other customers remained nearby.

The victim reportedly suffered head injuries during the attack and later received three stitches for his wounds. Emergency assistance was provided after the incident, although officials did not release further medical details about the man’s condition. Police have not confirmed whether alcohol played a role, but reports circulating online claimed the suspects appeared intoxicated during the assault.
Police Launch Investigation
Sentul District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Basri Sagoni confirmed that officers are still investigating the case. He stated that police had already arrested the suspects involved in the attack and placed them under remand until May 14 to assist with further investigations.

Police are examining evidence, such as CCTV footage and witness statements from the restaurant area. They are also trying to figure out exactly how the victim got into the violent confrontation with the group.
Public Attention Grows
The video footage of the incident has been widely shared online since the incident, drawing attention to the case. The brief video demonstrated the quickness of the violence in the restaurant and prompted questions about safety when eating out late at night in crowded areas of the city.

At this stage, police have not released the identities of the suspects or the victim. Investigators said additional action may follow as the case develops and more evidence becomes available.
