After much speculation, it is now confirmed that “Jana Nayagan” will be released on 23 July.
The news was announced by the makers themselves, KVN Productions, as it shared a new poster for the movie, which features Vijay’s police character holding a sword. The words under the image read, “Releasing worldwide July 23”.
“Tested by fire. Forged by time. Built for history. The tougher the battle, The louder the victory,” the caption read.
The movie had a long and winding journey to finally get a release. Nearly seven months after its Pongal release was delayed due to censorship issues, the movie finally received its CBFC certification last week.
Directed by H Vinoth, “Jana Nayagan” features an ensemble cast including Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol and Mamitha Baiju, along with Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain and Priyamani.
Prior to the official announcement, speculations of the 23 July release sparked after ticketing platforms and exhibitors began to open bookings in multiple countries.
