A heartwarming video of a Singaporean taxi driver has gone viral online after he shared his love for his wife’s cooking. The driver was asked about his favorite food in Singapore during a ride, and his sweet response has touched the hearts of many viewers.
The Best Food in Town
In the short video, a passenger asks the taxi driver to name his favorite food in Singapore. Instead of mentioning famous local dishes like chicken rice or laksa, the driver replies with a smile. He says that whatever his wife cooks at home is always the best food for him.

The driver explains that he is an Indian Muslim and enjoys many types of food, including Indian, Malay, and Chinese dishes. However, he prefers to avoid eating at restaurants or hawker centers during his long working hours. Instead, he looks forward to returning home every evening to enjoy a fresh meal prepared by his wife.
A Special Evening Meal
The driver describes how his wife always prepares something special for him when his shift ends. In the morning of the video, he noticed that she had already placed some fresh fish in the kitchen basin to wash and clean. He was excited to see what she would create with it.

He mentions that his wife can cook the fish in many delicious ways. She might fry it and serve it with a rich gravy, or she might prepare a spicy curry. The driver notes that he loves spicy food because it gives the meal a great taste and an exciting “kick.” He adds that home-cooked food is always better because he does not need to add extra sauces to make it taste good.
A Sweet Family Moment
At the end of the conversation, the driver laughs and jokes with the passenger. He says that the passenger probably asked the wrong person if she was looking for restaurant recommendations in the city.

The passenger agrees that a warm, home-cooked dinner sounds like the perfect way to end a long day of work. The video highlights the strong appreciation that many Singaporeans have for family traditions and home-cooked meals.
