Saturday, June 22, 2024, was a big day for Apple as it opened its first-ever store in Malaysia. Situated in the bustling Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) in Kuala Lumpur, this store is set to be a hotspot for Apple fans and newcomers alike, offering a chance to explore and experience Apple’s latest gadgets and services up close.
Unique Architectural Design
The new Apple Store at The Exchange TRX stands out with its tiered pyramid design, as noted in a report by 9to5Mac. The design is inspired by traditional Malaysian food covers called “tudung saji,” blending modern technology with local cultural elements.
Opening Day Highlights
The grand opening kicked off at 10 a.m. with live performances by local artists De Fam, as part of Apple’s Today at Apple series.
Today at Apple are workshops held in Apple Stores, where people can learn new skills. It’s not just about iPhone basics or setting up a Mac; people can explore coding, drawing, music creation, and photography improvement. These workshops are fun and free.
Architectural and Interior Design
The Apple Store features natural stone walls, polished stainless-steel columns, and light terrazzo floors. A striking quartz and glass staircase connects different levels of the store, creating a welcoming environment for customers to explore and interact with Apple products.
According to Apple’s press release, the store’s three-dimensional roof uses glass panels and shading blades to create a warm ambiance day and night. This design connects the central atrium with a rooftop park that encircles the upper level, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor areas.
Hands-On Experience
Customers can try out the latest iPhone 15, MacBook Air with M3, redesigned iPad Air, and thin iPad Pro with M4. Apple Specialists are available to provide personalized support, ensuring everyone gets the most out of their Apple devices.
Genius Bar and Personalized Services
For technical support, customers can visit the Genius Bar for help with repairs, troubleshooting, and setup. Apple Geniuses are available for one-on-one appointments to address specific needs and ensure a seamless experience.
Location and Accessibility
Located at L1.40 Persiaran TRX within the Tun Razak Exchange, the Apple Store is easily accessible by public transport. It offers ample parking, making it convenient for visitors to explore and shop.
The opening of Apple The Exchange TRX is not just about selling products; it’s about bringing Apple’s innovative spirit to Malaysia. With its unique design, diverse product lineup, and educational programs, the store aims to become a hub for creativity and community engagement in Kuala Lumpur.
