Ambassadors and diplomats accredited in Iran toured sites in Tehran on Monday to assess damage caused by US-Israeli airstrikes on civilian, historical, and religious locations.
Footage shows diplomats inspecting the destruction at Gandhi Hospital, the Rafi-Nia synagogue, the historic Golestan Palace and nearby residential buildings.
“We have been witnesses to the cruelty of the United States and Israel in bombing this country. It is clear they intend to destroy the intellectual and civilian fabric of these people. They do not care about schools, hospitals, or civilians,” said Cuba’s ambassador to Iran, Jorge Fernando Lefebre Nicolas.
“It is terrible to see this and to know that the target was civilian — a hospital. I believe this constitutes another war crime by Israel or the United States,” said Russia’s ambassador to Iran Alexey Dedov.
On April 8, the United States and Iran reached a conditional two-week ceasefire agreement, followed by talks in Islamabad mediated by Pakistan, which failed to produce a final agreement.
The United States and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran on February 28. Tehran later confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of the war, after which his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was selected as his successor.
