Singaporeans were stunned to spot a familiar green double-decker bus being sold at a Guangzhou port.
A China-based salesman named Peter, who runs the Instagram account Penghuiz59, posted a video promoting the bus for sale, leaving many Singaporeans wondering how the vehicle ended up overseas.
“This Car Is Very Beautiful”
In the short clip, Peter stood in front of the bus and introduced it in broken English.
“This is a bus. Do you like this car? This car is very beautiful. If you want to buy this car, leave me a message,” he said.
The video quickly gained attention, with viewers joking about the unexpected appearance of a Singapore public bus in China.
Singaporeans React With Surprise
Comments flooded in from users who were curious about how the bus was obtained.
“How did you get our transport buses?” one user wrote.
Others joked, “Wait, we can own Singapore buses now?” and asked whether the deal included a COE.
Another commenter said, “Send it to Singapore! Bet many will be interested.”
LTA Moving Towards Electric Buses
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has been expanding Singapore’s public bus fleet with new electric buses, including double-decker models that share a similar design to the viral bus.
LTA awarded contracts for 660 new electric buses, including 300 electric double-decker buses, to multiple companies as part of Singapore’s move towards a greener public transport system.
