House Collapses Into River
A two-storey house crashed into a raging river in Pampanga on Friday after surging water eroded the riverbank beneath it.

Footage shows heavy rain lashing the area around Sta. Rita and Sto. Cristo as the swollen river races past the property. Moments later, the house collapses into the water and is swept downstream.
Heavy Rain Threatens Pampanga
Pampanga was experiencing further heavy rain on Friday due to the southwest monsoon, known locally as Habagat. PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rainfall could trigger further flooding and landslides across the province.

The province has been under a state of calamity since August 12 following widespread flooding. As of August 24, more than one million people had been affected across 253 barangays in 16 local government areas.
