Cristiano Ronaldo has tied the knot with his girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, in a private civil marriage in Portugal, after a nearly decade-long relationship. The football superstar and Rodriguez confirmed the marriage by sharing a picture showing their wedding rings.
The couple, who first met in Madrid in 2016, have been together for nine years. Their relationship has grown alongside Ronaldo’s successful football career, with Rodriguez becoming a regular presence during decisive moments in the player’s personal and professional life.
Ronaldo Holds Private Wedding Ceremony
Ronaldo, 41, and Rodriguez exchanged vows in Cascais, a coastal town located about 20 miles west of Lisbon, Portugal’s capital city. The ceremony was attended by their five children, making it a family celebration.

The wedding took place just four days before Ronaldo’s club, Al Nassr, began their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign. The timing comes as the Portuguese forward prepares for another season of professional football.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have built a family together since they began their relationship. They share two daughters, while Ronaldo also has three other children from previous relationships. The couple has often appeared together at public events and family occasions.
Football Career Continues
The marriage comes during another important period in Ronaldo’s football career. The forward has scored nearly 1,000 goals throughout his career, representing several major clubs, including Sporting, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus, Al Nassr, and the Portugal national team.
Ronaldo remains one of football’s most recognized players after achieving success across different leagues and competitions. He has won multiple trophies during his career and continues to play at the highest level with Al Nassr.

Earlier this summer, Ronaldo played in his sixth World Cup, sharing the record with Argentina’s Lionel Messi for the most appearances in the men’s tournament. The achievement added another milestone to his long international career.
Ronaldo Focuses on the Future
Following Portugal’s World Cup campaign, Ronaldo said he was disappointed to leave the tournament in that way but wanted time to reflect on his future. He said he would not make quick decisions about continuing his international career.
The Portuguese captain said he had spent 23 years representing his country and helped Portugal win major titles, including the 2016 European Championship. He described the victory as one of the most important achievements of his career.
Ronaldo is expected to be 43 years old when the next major European tournament takes place in 2028. However, his immediate focus remains on the new football season with Al Nassr.
New Season With Al Nassr
Al Nassr will begin the new season under former Tottenham, Celtic, and Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou. Ronaldo will continue leading the team as the club aims for success in domestic and international competitions.

The Portuguese forward’s marriage to Rodriguez comes at a busy time, with both personal and professional milestones happening together. After years as one of football’s biggest stars, Ronaldo has now added another major moment to his personal life.
The couple’s wedding in Portugal brought together their family before Ronaldo returns to his football commitments. As the new season begins, the player will continue balancing his role as a footballer and his life with his family.
