Unusual Sight in Traffic

A short seven-second video clip filmed along a heavily jammed Malaysian highway captured a scene that left nearby drivers doing an immediate double take. The brief clip shows someone sitting right behind the steering wheel of a small blue hatchback while wearing a stark white facial sheet mask. Despite being stuck in a long, crawling line of cars, the driver stayed completely calm and still, staring straight ahead through the eye holes of the wet mask while waiting for the lane to budge forward.

Heavy traffic gridlock is just an annoying part of the daily grind for motorists living in urban areas across the country. When traffic grinds to a complete stop during peak rush hour, most people mess around with the radio buttons, scroll through social media on their phones, or take a quick sip of water. However, catching a fellow driver completing a full-on beauty treatment right inside their vehicle is definitely not something you come across every day. Even with the bright white fabric completely covering their face, the driver appeared focused entirely on the road ahead.

The clip was filmed from inside another car sitting just one lane over in slow-moving traffic. Looking directly through a side mirror, the bright white mask popped out instantly against the dark, shaded interior of the blue hatchback. Both hands stayed firmly planted right on the steering wheel the entire time, keeping the car steady as the middle lane crawled forward inch by inch under the midday heat.

For anyone unfamiliar with skincare products, facial sheet masks are thin pieces of soft cloth soaked in hydrating serums and liquid ingredients. People usually throw them on at home for fifteen to twenty minutes while lying down on the sofa and chilling out. Applying one properly requires carefully lining up the cutouts for your eyes, nose, and mouth. This particular driver clearly decided that sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic was as good a time as any to get that daily skincare routine done.

Skincare During Commute

Navigating heavy traffic obviously requires full visual attention and total awareness of nearby vehicles. Modern cars feature broad windshields and clear side windows, which means everyone driving around you can see right into your cabin. While wearing a wet sheet mask does not actually stop anyone from physically steering a vehicle safely, it certainly gives other motorists a quick fright when they glance over into their mirrors without expecting a featureless white face looking back.

The whole funny incident goes to show how unexpected and random everyday commuting moments can get on public roads. Throughout the short recording, the blue hatchback stayed safely parked inside its designated lane without drifting toward other cars. Once the traffic up ahead finally started moving again, the driver simply rolled forward along with the line, completely unfazed by the attention.

Daily Routine on the Road

Long traffic delays tend to bring out all sorts of odd habits as commuters try their best to kill time before reaching the office or heading home after work. From singing out loud at the top of their lungs to eating full packed meals at red lights, drivers always find clever ways to multitask. This driver just took multitasking to a whole new level by turning a boring traffic jam into a quick personal spa session on wheels.
