Government Honors Selfless Highway Heroism
A brave driver recently received a massive cash reward from the government after risking his life to stop a highway tragedy.
Transport Minister Anthony Loke officially presented the national honors during a special ceremony held inside the Parliament building. The government wanted to make sure his incredible sacrifice did not go unnoticed by the public.

Leaders from across the country gathered together to express their deepest gratitude to this amazing everyday citizen.
Big Financial Reward For Bravery
The Malaysian Road Safety Council fully funded a special cash prize of ten thousand ringgit for the driver, Wong Tuck Meng.
Along with the money, the forty-year-old was awarded a formal Special Certificate of Appreciation. Government officials stated that while no amount of money can truly match the value of human life, this financial reward is a meaningful token of a thankful nation.

It shows that the country values citizens who protect others.
Strategic Move Saves Twenty One Lives
The reward recognizes a brilliant act of bravery that saved twenty-one lives near the Menora Tunnel. An express bus lost its brakes on a dangerous downhill stretch of the road.
Wong stayed completely calm and intentionally positioned his heavy lorry to absorb the impact of the crashing bus.

While his vehicle was hit, he continuously sounded his horn to warn smaller cars ahead to escape. He then carefully steered both massive vehicles safely against the guardrail.
Humble Driver Accepts The National Honors
The emotional event became even more touching when the humble driver spoke to the crowd.
Wong explained that his fast actions came completely from his heart because he only wanted to prevent a fatal accident. He never expected to receive money or fame for simply doing the right thing on the road.
This well-deserved financial reward shows everyone that society will always celebrate and protect our real heroes.
