Commuters travelling on Singapore’s MRT may want to keep an eye out for their next train.

A fully decorated FIFA World Cup 2026™-themed MRT train has begun operating on the North-South and East-West Lines, turning ordinary journeys into a travelling football exhibition.

Photos and videos of the train have been circulating online, with social media users sharing glimpses of the colourful cabins and football-themed displays.

Six Cabins, Six Football Stories

The train has been transformed into an immersive six-cabin experience inspired by football history and culture.

Five cabins celebrate former FIFA World Cup-winning nations: Brazil, Germany, Argentina, France and Spain.

Each carriage features country-themed visuals, football trivia, iconic moments from past tournaments and stories about some of the game’s most memorable achievements.

Commuters can also scan QR codes onboard to test their football knowledge through an interactive trivia challenge.

A Cabin Dedicated to Singapore

Among the international football giants is one cabin dedicated entirely to Singapore. According to reports, the Singapore-themed carriage pays tribute to the country’s football journey, local fans and the continued growth of the sport here.

Photos shared online show familiar names from Singapore football featured throughout the cabin. One social media post joked: “You might be sitting next to a Fandi on your next commute!”

The carriage has drawn particular attention from local football fans, who were excited to see Singapore represented alongside World Cup-winning nations.

No Fixed Schedule

Unlike special exhibition trains that operate on specific timings, this train runs as a regular MRT service. That means commuters will not know exactly when or where they will encounter it.

The themed train began operating on 10 June and will remain in service until 19 July 2026. It can appear anywhere along the North-South and East-West Lines during normal operations.

Football Fans Hope to Spot It

Videos of the train quickly attracted attention online, with many Singaporeans expressing excitement about trying to find it.

One post encouraged commuters to “catch these stunning displays in the trains to commemorate the FIFA World Cup 2026™.”

For football fans, the surprise appearance of a World Cup-themed train may make the morning journey a little more interesting.

And with no fixed schedule, spotting it might feel a bit like finding a rare collectable — except this one arrives at the platform.
