A woman in Malaysia has been brought to the fore, and she reveals how she is living within a tiny budget for her monthly expenses! In her popular post on the Internet, she disclosed she still had only RM718.92 (about S$217) in her account after servicing her monthly obligations.

The woman said she works out her money allocation so she can get the money to last till the end of the month. She buys cheap ingredients for her daily meals to save money. Her story brought in the financial issues some people have when trying to save money, pay bills, and take care of the family.
Simple Daily Meals
The woman said that her lunch is a plain nasi lemak (pancake) packet for RM 2.50 (S$0.76) and two boiled eggs. She said she does not eat breakfast and drinks only plain water in the morning.

She explained that the meal is enough to keep her full until she returns home from work. If she is spending RM2.50 on lunch every day, she will spend approximately RM75 (S$23) in a month, according to her calculation. She also shared that she has stopped shopping and usually avoids social outings with friends to control her spending.
Emergency Savings Priority
After receiving significant attention for her post, the woman later clarified that the RM718.92 was not the only amount she had available for the month. She said the figure did not include other necessary expenses such as petrol and groceries. She also revealed that she sets aside RM500 (approximately S$151) every month for an emergency fund.

She has a low budget, but she saves and regularly makes contributions to the fund. The woman also said that she doesn’t spend all the money on her own. She has four younger siblings and has to support her family financially sometimes, she said. Consequently, this means that the money she has to spend should be used on more than her immediate requirements.
Many users felt worried about her health, while others shared their own financial struggles and praised her effort to save money.
Balancing Expenses and Responsibilities
The woman commented on her financial condition and how it takes planning and discipline when it comes to handling money. Family obligations are also a key consideration that is in the monthly budget and which she considers when determining how she allocates the remaining money, she said.
She concluded her message with joy in her heart that everybody would find ease and blessings in their lives while carrying out their financial and other duties.
