The upcoming “Miami Vice” movie has found its official title and will now be known as “Miami Vice ’85”.

The movie is set to have a background of the year 1985, unlike the 2006 Michael Mann movie starring Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell, which is set in the 2000s.
Michael B. Jordan and Austin Butler have officially signed to play Ricardo “Rico” Tubbs and Sonny Crockett, respectively, after being in talks for quite some time. The two characters were previously played by Philip Michael Thomas and Don Johnson.

The original, set in the 1980s, revolves around two undercover police officers working in Miami, Florida.
To be directed by Joseph Kosinski of “Top Gun: Maverick” fame, the filmmaker will be shooting the film with Imax cameras, just like he did for the “Top Gun”.
