Woman Arrested in Pattaya After Attempting to Buy Drugs from Undercover Cop

On Friday, May 23, 2025, a woman in her 40s was arrested in Pattaya’s Jomtien area after she unknowingly tried to purchase crystal methamphetamine, commonly called “ice,” from an undercover police officer during a routine anti-drug operation.

Anti-Drug Operation Targets Pattaya’s Jomtien Sois 2, 3, and 4

The operation, led by Deputy Inspector Prasit Boonprasit of the Pattaya City Police’s anti-drug unit, targeted drug users and dealers across Jomtien Sois 2, 3, and 4.

Woman Mistakes Undercover Cop for Drug Dealer

While patrolling near Soi 3, Deputy Inspector Prasit was approached by the woman, who mistook him for a dealer and asked to buy “ice.”

When the officer playfully handed her a block of real ice, she quickly grew frustrated and explained that she was asking for the “crystal kind you smoke.”

She also signaled for him to lower his voice, assuring him that it was okay because the drug was known locally as the “work-hard drug,” Pattaya News reported.

Persistence Despite Police Presence Leads to Arrest

Even after additional officers arrived to back up the operation, the woman continued attempting to complete the purchase.

It was only when the officers identified themselves as police that she understood the seriousness of the situation and knew her mistake.

She was then taken into custody and subjected to a drug screening.

Suspected Drug Dealer Also Arrested

During the same operation, authorities also arrested a suspected drug dealer active in the area and seized evidence for further investigation.
