A Tiny Metro for His Maine Coons

A pet owner in China, known online as Xing (Xing’s World on YouTube), has caught attention after unveiling a fully functioning miniature subway station for his Maine Coon cats.

The ambitious project, which took him four months to complete, includes scaled-down platforms, train doors, and even working escalators.

In the now viral video, Xing revealed that the idea first came from fans who encouraged him to create something extraordinary for his pets.

From an Idea to a Working Build

Sheng admitted that two technical issues nearly derailed the project:

  • synchronizing the opening of the train and platform doors when the train arrived

  • constructing a fully functional miniature escalator.

Instead of giving up, he tackled each challenge step by step. His persistence paid off, resulting in a subway station that looked impressively lifelike.

The final touches included automated announcements to welcome the feline passengers, making the setup feel even closer to a real metro.

Adding to the spectacle, Xing filmed himself sitting cross-legged inside the station, appearing like a “giant” compared to the miniature world he had created.

Why Xing Builds Mini Homes

In another video posted in November 2024, Sheng shared the motivation behind his passion projects.

He explained that he wanted his cats to live in the kind of home he never had growing up.

“The reason I built a mini home for my pets is because I wanted them to live in the luxurious home that I never had,” Sheng said.

In 2022, he had already created a half-scale mini home, which quickly went viral online.

Later, when his wife opened a pet shop, he decided to build another version of the mini home inside the store to attract customers.

A Family Affair in Miniature Design

Xing’s creative projects have become a family activity.

His three-year-old son often explores the tiny builds and even leads viewers on tours in his videos.

Xing stated that he would never allow his child or his cats inside the spaces if they were not safe, emphasizing how careful his wife is with safety checks.

Building with Passion and Purpose

Xing says that his projects combine his lifelong love of tinkering with new skills such as 3D printing, woodworking, welding, painting, sewing, and video editing.

While the builds are time-consuming, he enjoys the challenge and the joy they bring to his family, his pets, and his online community.

“Since I was a kid, I’ve loved making things,” he said. “When I build projects like this as an adult, it makes me feel like a kid again.”

As his subway station video shows, Xing’s creations are more than just elaborate sets; they are a mix of love, imagination, and persistence that continue to inspire viewers around the world.
