Xi Jinping Arrives in Pyongyang
Chinese President Xi Jinping received a red carpet welcome in Pyongyang on Monday as he arrived for a two-day state visit to the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) – his first in nearly seven years.

Footage shows Xi’s aircraft arriving at Pyongyang International Airport, where he was welcomed by DPRK leader Kim Jong-un and First Lady Ri Sol-ju. The pair could be seen walking past the DPRK Guard of Honour before being whisked off to meetings.
High-Level Delegation Accompanies Xi
Xi arrived alongside First Lady Peng Liyuan, Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Secretary of the Secretariat of the Chinese Communist Party Cai Qi, marking the president’s first foreign trip of the year.
The Pyongyang summit follows a series of high-level meetings in Beijing, where Xi Jinping hosted back-to-back meetings with US President Donald Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin in May.

On Xi’s arrival, DPRK state media called for a unified opposition to “hegemonism and power politics” to mark the 65th anniversary of the China-DPRK Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance.
